Open Komodo Project Announcement

Sections: Software — Posted @ 7:48 pm

My favorite editor for all things programming, Komodo Edit by ActiveState, is going Open Source!

I can’t wait to get my hands on the source code. The first thing I am going to do is add the ability to open multiple windows instead of always opening a new file in a tab in the existing window.

The public source code repositories should be available in less than a month. And because this project is built on top of Mozilla Firefox technology, it should be both fun and easy to hack on. Another big win for Open Source!

Someone Overestimates the Power of Congress

Sections: Fun — Posted @ 10:14 pm

Stolen from Kevin, who stole it from someone else. When did Congress gain power over the sun, and why can’t they cause Seattle to be sunny year round?

stupid people shouldn't write letters

It turns out that this article was actually published by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, but the author meant it as satire
. Hopefully, the editors of the newspaper realized this as well when they published it.

Bumbershoot 2007

Sections: Events, Photos — Posted @ 1:57 pm

My brother Nick, soon-to-be sister-in-law Jessie, my beautiful wife Aliciana, and I decided to checkout the Sunday performances at this year’s Bumbershoot. We saw a couple good bands, North Twin and The Bouncing Souls, and also visited some of the art exhibits. We were also hoping to see The Horror Pops, but they canceled at the last minute. Suck.
